FiveM client console reference
Open the client console with F8. Commands registered by resources appear alongside the platform commands, so a command available on one server need not exist on another. The catalog below follows the pinned official client command manual ; it is not a universal optimization preset.
Record the old setting before editing it. Most boolean diagnostic tools accept true to open and false to close. Developer tools may require a development launch: use a separate test shortcut with +set moo 31337, or an intentionally selected nonproduction channel. Nonproduction channels can be unstable. Remove the argument afterward. Enhanced also has the separate server-controlled sv_devMode workflow described in two-client testing.
Connection, bindings and local play
| Command | Contract |
|---|---|
connect server | Connect to an IP/port, full URL or cfx.re/join/code. Quote full URLs when necessary; connect 127.0.0.1:30120 tests only your own machine. |
disconnect | Leave the server and return to the menu. |
quit or quit "reason" | Close the client immediately; the optional reason is sent to the server. |
bind | List current key bindings. |
bind mapper input command | Bind an input to a console command. Use mapper IDs, not a guessed native control number. |
rbind resource mapper input command | Resource-scoped binding, active only while that resource is in use. |
unbind mapper input | Remove all commands on that input, not just the last one you added. Inspect existing bindings first. |
loadlevel name | Start a local level, such as gta5, rdr3 or blank-map, when supported by the installed game. |
invoke-levelload | Alias of loadlevel. |
storymode | Start FiveM story mode. |
localGame name | Start a local resource at usermaps:/resources/name, replacing the current game and starting a single-player environment. |
localRestart | Restart the active localGame resource. |
A localGame resource needs a manifest inside FiveM.app/usermaps/resources/name. Back up single-player saves first. The upstream client manual requires a valid original-game save for FiveM SP and describes copying it into the FiveM profile under Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA V, identified by fivem_set.bin. This is not a multiplayer character migration or an independent identity for a second client.
For a reversible binding test, first run bind, select an unused input, then bind a benign command from your own test resource. A semicolon separates commands; the console wait command delays the remaining sequence. After testing, remove only the selected input and restore its previous bindings. Avoid binding purchases, administrative commands or repeated network requests merely to test a key.
Ordinary client settings
| Setting | Value/default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
cl_drawfps | Boolean | FPS counter. |
cl_drawperf | Boolean | FPS, round-trip ping in ms, packet-loss percentage, CPU/GPU usage and GPU temperature. |
profile_sfxVolume | Number, minimum0 | SFX volume;10 means100%. The source specifies no upper cap, but raising it is not a safe hearing recommendation. |
profile_musicVolume | Number | Single-player music level. |
profile_musicVolumeInMp | Number | Multiplayer music level. |
voice_enableNoiseSuppression | Boolean, true | Background-noise suppression. |
voice_inBitrate | 16000–128000, default48000 | Voice encoding bitrate; bandwidth also increases. |
cam_disableCameraShake | Boolean, false | Suppress shake effects. |
cam_enableHandbrakeCamera | Boolean, true | Handbrake camera swing; false disables it. |
cam_vehicleFirstPersonFOV | −1 to130, default−1 | Vehicle first-person field of view override. |
nui_useInProcessGpu | Boolean, false | CEF compatibility option that can reduce NUI performance; restart required after changing. |
str_maxVehicleTextureRes | Integer, default1024 | Vehicle texture-resolution cap; trades image detail for reduced memory pressure. |
allowEmptyHeadDrawable | Boolean, false | Permit an empty head drawable at drawable ID0. |
Defaults are source-snapshot values, not proof of the current value on your client. A resource or replicated server setting can deliberately choose something else. See voice configuration before mixing Legacy-only Mumble settings with Enhanced.
Console, access-control and NUI tools
| Command | Contract |
|---|---|
cmdlist | List registered commands and variables set with set, sets and seta; resource commands are included. |
con_autoScroll | Boolean, default true; scroll on new console entries. |
con_miniconChannels pattern | On-screen log-channel selection; default minicon:*. Full pattern match, * matches any sequence, and spaces or + combine patterns. |
con_winconsole | Boolean, default false; windowed developer console. |
developer | Boolean; additional developer logging, not the same thing as granting every developer command. |
devgui_cmd path command | Add a command to the developer GUI, for example a local disconnect menu entry. |
devgui_convar path variable | Add a variable control to that GUI. |
list_aces | Inspect principal/object allow and deny entries. |
list_principals | Inspect inheritance; the displayed child appears to the left of the parent. |
test_ace principal object | Check effective access without granting it. |
se_debug | Boolean; verbose security/ACL diagnostics. Disable after diagnosis. |
nui_devtools | Open NUI developer tools inside the game process. |
set key value | Set a client variable for the current configuration context. |
seta key value | Archive a client variable in %AppData%/CitizenFX/fivem.cfg or redm.cfg. |
For example, con_miniconChannels "script:preview script:map_lab" selects those exact channels; script:* selects all resource channels. Do not display credentials or identifiers in an on-screen overlay. Save old filter values and restore them after collecting the relevant evidence. VConsole2 is the upstream-linked option for an external client console.
Networking diagnostics
| Command | What it exposes |
|---|---|
net_printOwner objectID | Owner of the given network object ID. |
netEventLog | Boolean; inbound/outbound event names, direction and data size. |
net_statsFile filename | Write client network statistics as CSV in the application data directory. |
netgraph | Boolean; live packet/byte counts, ping and routing statistics. |
netobjviewer | Boolean; synchronized objects/nodes when state awareness is enabled. |
netobjviewer_syncLog | Internal state discrepancy diagnostic; use only for a specific investigation. |
onesync_logFile filename | Write state-awareness logs; set the filename to an empty string to stop. |
net_showCommands, net_showDrilldown, net_showTime | Internal network diagnostics rather than ordinary gameplay settings. |
netgraph uses in/out for packets per second, the corresponding byte fields for bytes per second, rt for routing packets and rd for routing-packet delay. Ping is round-trip latency, not a measurement of server script CPU time.
Keep captures bounded. For example, onesync_logFile "docs-test.log"; wait 5000; onesync_logFile "" records about five seconds. Confirm the file stopped growing, retain it privately and remove it when the investigation ends. The pinned source does not state a net_statsFile stop argument; do not invent one. Close/restart the diagnostic client after the required capture and verify recording stopped.
Streaming and asset tools
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
resmon | Boolean; per-resource CPU and memory monitor. |
modelviewer | Boolean; inspect TXDs and drawables in a GUI. |
strdbg | Boolean; see what the GTA streamer is loading. |
strlist | Boolean; registered streaming entries and their status. |
strmem | Boolean; per-asset and overall streaming-memory usage. |
save_gta_cache resourceName | Write a resource’s map/collision cache into %AppData%/CitizenFX. |
r_disableRendering | Internal tooling option; not runtime-toggleable and not an ordinary FPS fix. |
game_enableScaleformDebugLog | Boolean, FiveM-only; Scaleform debugging output, not supported on RedM in this source. |
To distribute a generated map cache, copy the actual resourceName_cache_y.dat into that resource’s root, list that exact filename in its manifest files, and verify the client log reports CFX_PSEUDO_CACHE followed by CfxCacheMounter. Do not reuse another resource’s filename or place the cache under stream/ and assume it is mounted identically.
Scaleform log types listed upstream are GENERIC_TYPE, SCRIPT_TYPE, HUD_TYPE, MINIMAP_TYPE, WEB_TYPE, CUTSCENE_TYPE, PAUSE_TYPE, STORE, GAMESTREAM, SF_BASE_CLASS_VIDEO_EDITOR, SF_BASE_CLASS_MOUSE and SF_BASE_CLASS_TEXT_INPUT. The category is diagnostic context, not the method name to invoke. See Scaleform authoring.
Replicated gameplay switches
The following documented booleans may be set by the server using setr. A script must still use a supported native and valid asset; a toggle does not supply missing models or permissions.
| Name | Default when specified | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
game_enableDynamicDoorCreation | false | Allow dynamic doors created with script natives. |
game_enableFlyThroughWindscreen | Not stated | Permit crash ejection through windscreens. |
game_enablePlayerJumpRagdollControl | Not stated | Enable the single-player jump/ragdoll control combination. |
game_enablePlayerRagdollOnCollision | Not stated | Enable native collision ragdoll behavior. |
game_originalBikeJump | false | Original bike-jump physics, with different height, distance and consistency. |
game_sanitizeRagdollEvents | true | Sanitize events that could force the local player into ragdoll. |
onesync_population | true | Population spawning and management. |
sv_enableNetEventReassembly | true | Reassemble network events split into multiple packets. |
Do not invent a default where the pinned source provides none. Resource behavior and the actual artifact remain relevant when changing a gameplay switch.
Enhanced-only tools and settings
All tools in this paragraph are boolean and default false: cl_drawResTimeGraphs (resource time graphs), cl_drawResTimeWarnings (resource warnings), con_archetypeMonitor (archetypes), con_discordRichPresence (Discord presence), con_handlingEditor (handling), con_inputViewer (inputs), con_minconsole (mini console), con_poolInspector (pools), con_streamingMonitor (streaming), con_timeCycleEditor (timecycle), and netobjlabeling (network-object labels). Enable only the tool needed for a test and close it afterward.
| Enhanced setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
game_enableAdvancedPopulation | true | Single-player-like wildlife and varied population; server-replicable. |
game_enableEnterVehicleFemaleClipset | false | Use the female vehicle-entry animation, which the source describes as slightly slower; server-replicable. |
game_enablePetrolLeakage | true | Leak fuel from a damaged tank; server-replicable. |
game_setDefaultEntityCapLimitToLow | false | Change default medium instance-priority caps to low; test streaming distances and performance before adoption; server-replicable. |
voice_enableEchoCancellation | true | Reduce speaker/microphone feedback. |
voice_enableVoiceNormalization | true | Reduce volume differences between speakers. |
sv_pingIntervalMilliseconds | 5000 | Client keepalive interval in milliseconds; server-replicable, with traffic/detection tradeoffs. |
Use Enhanced migration for removed Legacy options. Verify commands on the actual client, reproduce the original issue, undo test settings, and distinguish a browser documentation test from a real Windows/game diagnostic session.
