FiveM Blips: IDs, Sprites & Map Icons
FiveM blips are the icons on the GTA V pause map and minimap: hospitals, police stations, shops, garages and mission objectives. Choose a numeric sprite ID in the visual explorer, select a documented blip colour, and generate a client-side Lua or JavaScript snippet.
The reference below preserves 883 source sprite entries and 100 blip colour entries from the official game-build-3258 list. There are gaps in the sprite ID sequence; an absent ID is not an undocumented working sprite.

Find an icon visually, select its numeric ID, choose a colour and copy a working client-side snippet.

Sprite images are unmodified source previews. The selected colour is shown as a swatch, not a promise of exact in-game tinting.

-- client.lua · Run this in a client script
local blip = AddBlipForCoord(307.7, -595.2, 43.3)
SetBlipSprite(blip, 61)
SetBlipColour(blip, 2)
SetBlipScale(blip, 0.8)
SetBlipDisplay(blip, 4)
SetBlipAsShortRange(blip, true)

AddTextComponentString("Hospital")
EndTextCommandSetBlipName(blip)
-- Remove only the blip owned by this resource when it stops.
AddEventHandler('onResourceStop', function(resourceName)
if resourceName == GetCurrentResourceName() and DoesBlipExist(blip) then
RemoveBlip(blip)
end
end)Place the code in a client script declared in your fxmanifest.lua. Replace the example coordinates; the generated code cleans up its own blip on resource stop.

Variant colours share a numeric ID. The official reference uses SET_BLIP_AS_FRIENDLY for friendly/enemy state; they are not separate IDs for SetBlipColour.

How to create a FiveM map blip
Blips for the local player map are created in a client script, not in server.lua. For a hospital example, put this in client.lua:
local blip = AddBlipForCoord(307.7, -595.2, 43.3)
SetBlipSprite(blip, 61) -- radar_hospital
SetBlipColour(blip, 2) -- Green
SetBlipDisplay(blip, 4)
SetBlipScale(blip, 0.8)
SetBlipAsShortRange(blip, true)
BeginTextCommandSetBlipName("STRING")
AddTextComponentString("Hospital")
EndTextCommandSetBlipName(blip)
AddEventHandler('onResourceStop', function(resourceName)
if resourceName == GetCurrentResourceName() and DoesBlipExist(blip) then
RemoveBlip(blip)
end
end)AddBlipForCoord creates the handle; SetBlipSprite chooses the map icon, and SetBlipColour sets a value from the separate colour table. SetBlipAsShortRange limits nearby minimap display, while SetBlipRoute(blip, true) adds GPS routing. The generator above provides JavaScript and cleanup code too.
Why is my blip invisible or wrong?
- Wrong ID:
1isradar_levelin the official sprite list, not a generic circle. Use the exact numeric sprite ID. - No map icon: Confirm your client script is declared in the
client_scriptssection offxmanifest.lua, and that the resource is started. - Unexpected colour: Colour IDs are not sprite IDs. Friendly/enemy variants may depend on
SET_BLIP_AS_FRIENDLYrather than a separateSetBlipColourvalue. - Wrong position: Use actual world coordinates instead of undefined
x,y,zvariables. - Duplicate icons: Create each destination blip once and retain its handle. Do not recreate blips every frame.

Source scope and usage notes
The source identifies game build 3258. Sprite IDs are not a consecutive list: omitted IDs stay omitted. Color IDs are a separate namespace, and friendly/enemy variants can share a numeric ID. Animated previews are kept as their original GIF files.
Images are served from this repository, not hotlinked. Empty source fields and unknown identifiers are retained as unknown. View the official source or download the complete dataset.
